Need to fine-tune a writing project? Stuck on a manuscript or need another set of eyes to get your work ready for publication? I can help.
Through Manuscript Tune-Up, I offer three levels of support to writers with a completed (or close to completed) manuscript. Spaces are limited. If you're looking for something more customized, or need help with a smaller project, drop me a note and let's chat.
A respected editor and an award-winning writer, I earned my MFA in Creative Writing at UBC and am currently a PhD student in Adult Education at the University of Toronto. I'm a member of Editors Canada, have guest edited some of Canada's most prestigious literary journals, and have extensive experience providing personalized, workable feedback on fiction, nonfiction, memoir, and professional writing projects. Let me help you get in the groove, find your voice, and make your writing shine.
In my unique experiences as an international educator, I've travelled to over 70 countries, meeting with students, parents and teachers from around the globe. A skilled and sensitive intercultural communicator, I've facilitated compelling writing workshops for youth on a diverse range of topics, including identity, migration, home, and belonging. Currently a PhD student in Adult Education at the University of Toronto, my research focuses on globally-mobile young people and explores ideas of home, belonging, and identity in a globalized world, using arts-based methods and innovative storytelling and life writing exercises to engage youth in writing, reflection, and conversation. I have particular expertise working with "third-culture" kids, LGBTQ youth, and globally-mobile or migrating youth.
In 2017 I had the honour to serve as Writer-in-Residence at Lester B. Pearson United World College, an international school enrolling students from 80 countries. I'm available to travel to your school, college, or university to facilitate a range of engaging, interactive, and thematically-focused writing workshops.
For over fifteen years I’ve worked as an education and communications professional in a range of capacities—academic writing, project development, ghostwriting, communications planning, and public relations. I have coached and mentored emerging writers, professionals, and staff teams embarking on short- and long-term communication projects. I currently consult for writers, teams, and organizations who require support developing, editing or fine-tuning projects for publication. I offer one-to-one coaching for writers with specific goals, like structuring a book to developing and enhancing an ongoing writing practise. I'm also available to facilitate and lead customized group workshops and seminars.
